„Coalition of the Willing“ is developing plans for further support for Ukraine in the event of the refusal of the administration of US President Donald Trump to supply weapons to the authorities in Kiev, the „Daily Telegraph“ reported, citing its sources.
„Let's be realistic and admit that the US will never be on our side“, said an unnamed Western official.
According to the publication, at a meeting in The Hague of representatives of the foreign policy departments of the „Coalition of the Willing“, a gloomy mood reigned. “It was largely about how to maintain the necessary level of aid to Ukraine while accepting that the US would continue to provide only specific services, such as intelligence,” a European official told the newspaper. “We also agreed on the need to increase economic pressure on Russia,” he added.
“The Daily Telegraph“ noted that due to the Trump administration’s stance, Britain and France are shifting their focus from sending troops to Ukraine after a ceasefire to long-term support for Ukraine without Washington’s involvement.
