Iran warns of retaliation if nuclear report is politicized - 1

Iran will take retaliatory measures if European countries use the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report for political purposes. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, quoted by Agence France-Presse. The agency's report shows that Tehran has accelerated the production of highly enriched uranium, BTA reports.

“Iran will respond to any inappropriate action by European countries“, Araghchi stressed in a telephone conversation with IAEA head Rafael Grossi, held yesterday and released today. The minister called on the IAEA to prevent individual countries from using the document to achieve political goals against Iran.

Meanwhile, the United States said that its proposal to Iran for a nuclear deal was “acceptable“ and in Tehran's “best interest“, American media reported, citing the White House.

Yesterday, Iran announced that it had received parts of the American proposal for a new nuclear agreement through Oman, after five rounds of negotiations mediated by the Arab state. Minister Araghchi confirmed that Iran would “respond appropriately“.
