Seventeen people, including two children, were injured after Russian drones hit residential buildings in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv, causing fires, regional governor Oleg Sinegubov said early this morning, as quoted by Reuters and BTA.
Kharkov Mayor Igor Terekhov wrote on “Telegram“ that seven residential buildings were damaged, two of which were directly hit. The mayor added that one drone hit a residential building on the 17th floor and another on the second. A photo on social media shows the mayor inspecting an apartment hit by a drone that had pierced its walls.
Ukrainian forces used drones to attack a main transformer substation in the Russian-controlled part of Kherson region, knocking out power to major cities such as Melitopol and Berdyansk, as well as four districts - Genicheskiy, Novotroitsky, Nizhneserogozhsky and Ivanovsky, the region's Moscow-appointed governor, Vladimir Saldo, was quoted as saying by TASS.
The governor later said that 192 settlements and nearly 120,000 residents of Kherson region were left without water and electricity after the attack on the substation.
Reuters could not independently confirm this information.
