I was wrong...: Zia Yusuf returns to Farage's party - 1

Zia Yusuf has returned to the British right-wing party “Reform UK“ just 48 hours after stepping down as party chairman, saying his resignation was “a mistake”, PA Media and DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

The 38-year-old businessman said his decision to step down as chairman was the result of “exhaustion“ and working for 11 months “without a day off”.

The party's leader Nigel Farage, speaking to the “Sunday Times“ along with Yusuf, said the former chairman would now effectively hold "four jobs", although his title has not yet been decided. He will lead the reformist party's plans to cut public spending. The former chairman will also be involved in policy development, fundraising and media appearances.

Yusuf said he was leaving the party, following the latest in a series of internal scandals, which erupted when he described a "stupid" question to the prime minister about the burqa ban posed by his party's newest member of parliament, Sarah Pochin.

Yusuf now says he felt undervalued by some party members and that his strength had been drained after being subjected to incessant racist abuse in "Ex". As a result of everything, he announced his resignation, but this was a mistake, he explained.
