US President Donald Trump said that the US and Iran will continue talks on a nuclear deal on Thursday, adding that Tehran is a difficult negotiating partner and that the main obstacle to reaching an agreement is uranium enrichment, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"We are doing a lot of work on Iran right now", Trump told reporters during an economic event at the White House. "It is difficult.... They are great negotiators."
"They just want things that can't be given to them. They don't want to give up what they have to give up," he added.
"They are looking for enrichment. We can't accept that. We want the exact opposite. And so far they haven't." "They gave us their opinion on the deal. And I said it's just not acceptable," Trump said. The US president added that he had discussed Iran, among other topics, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today, adding that the conversation had gone well.
