The Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu arrived in Pyongyang on a special mission assigned by President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports. He will hold a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, News.bg reports.
This is Shoigu's third visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in the last three months.
During the visit, the two are expected to discuss the implementation of the agreements reached on June 4 during Shoigu's previous visit. These agreements are part of the broader Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and the DPRK.
In early June, Kim Jong-un and the top Russian representative discussed the situation in Ukraine, the restoration of the Kursk region, and initiatives to commemorate North Korean fighters who participated in the liberation of the Russian border region.
