Waiting for an order: Trump approved a plan to attack Iran, targeting the underground nuclear facility in Fodrow - 1

US President Donald Trump has concluded a meeting with his administration on the conflict between Israel and Iran, the White House press office reported.

He said that he did not want to participate in a military conflict with Iran, but Tehran should not have nuclear weapons.

"I do not want to interfere. "For 20 years, maybe more, I have been saying that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons," the head of state noted.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Trump told his aides on Tuesday night that he had approved a plan to attack Iran but had not yet given the order to carry it out, as he expects Tehran to abandon its nuclear program.

According to media sources, the American leader believes that the United States, threatening to join Israel's strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic, will be able to force Tehran to agree to its terms. As noted by an unnamed White House official, Trump continues to monitor the progress of Israel's military operation and is considering "several options" for the United States. He does not rule out opposing Washington's entry into this conflict.

If the United States joins Israel's military actions against Iran, it may launch not one, but several strikes on Iran's underground uranium enrichment facility in Fordow - Tehran's main nuclear facility, ABC News reported on Wednesday, citing its sources.

According to their information, US President Donald Trump is "getting used to the idea of disabling Iran's nuclear facility in Fordow". Washington has not yet received a response from Tehran to its proposal to continue negotiations on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, and Trump is trying to understand how his supporters will react to the decision to attack Iran.

The American leader said earlier that he had not yet made a final decision on the possibility of a strike on the nuclear facility in Fordow. Trump responded negatively to a question from journalists at the White House whether he believed the destruction of the facility was a necessary condition for concluding agreements with Tehran on Iran's nuclear program.

According to media estimates, only the United States has a super-heavy bomb that can destroy the Fordow facility.

It is located in the mountains at a depth of about 90 meters. The American portal Axios reported earlier that the United States is considering the possibility of transferring destructive bunker-busting bombs to Israel.
