The ban on flights within Iran and outside the country has been extended until 13:30 Bulgarian time on June 19, the Iranian NourNews agency reported, citing Majid Akhavan, a representative of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of the republic.
The Iranian air defense forces were activated to intercept drones over the outskirts of Tehran, the Iranian television channel SNN reported.
Sixty Israeli air force warplanes struck more than 20 military targets in Tehran last night, the Israel Defense Forces press service reported (IDF).
The IDF added that “as part of a comprehensive effort to counter Iran's nuclear weapons program, fighter jets struck weapons production facilities, centrifuge production facilities, and research and development facilities for the Iranian regime's nuclear weapons program“.
According to the Israeli military, “these facilities are designed to expand the scale and pace of uranium enrichment for the purpose of developing nuclear weapons”. The IDF spokesman noted that “for many years, the IDF Intelligence Directorate has been collecting information about the Iranian regime's manufacturing industry.”
