All NATO countries have agreed to sign the final statement of the NATO summit to increase the target military spending from 2% to 5% of GDP, but by 2035, Reuters reported.

According to the agency, the alliance's diplomats managed to "overcome objections" of Spain, which was the last NATO country to oppose the increase in the threshold for military spending.

At the same time, Spain and Italy managed to achieve a delay in the implementation of this agreement so that the increase in spending would end by 2035, and not by 2030 or 2032, as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had said earlier.
