Iran admits nuclear facilities severely damaged by US strikes - 1

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said today that US strikes on Sunday caused significant damage to the country's nuclear facilities, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

"Our nuclear facilities are severely damaged, that's for sure", the spokesman said, quoted by "Al Jazeera".

US President Donald Trump spoke to media representatives separately from other world leaders after being specially welcomed today at the "World Forum" congress center in The Hague by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Trump called the US military's operation in Iran, which hit Iranian nuclear facilities, "perfect", BTA also writes.

The US president is participating in the NATO summit, which is expected to adopt a joint declaration on a new goal for defense spending for member countries of 5 percent of GDP - a share that he insists on.

"Thanks to all the generals, to all the servicemen. We fired thirty "Tomahawk" missiles, submarines also participated," Trump said. He added that the data collected by US intelligence so far is not enough for definitive conclusions, but it is certain that "serious damage has been done".

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke together with Trump. Their media appearance was outside the so-called "doorstep", through which most of the world leaders passed - in a specially designated hall in the "World Forum".

Trump slept in the "Heus ten Bos" palace - the residence of the Dutch King Willem-Alexander, where a ceremonial reception was given for the participants in the NATO summit last night. The king opened the meeting together with Rutte today. The Bulgarian delegation is headed by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, and includes the ministers of foreign affairs - Georg Georgiev, and of defense - Atanas Zapryanov, and the chief of defense Emil Eftimov.
