More than 100 Palestinians were killed on July 1 as a result of Israeli army strikes in the Gaza Strip, the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported.
According to it, the Israeli military killed 109 Palestinians, including 28 people who were waiting to receive food at humanitarian aid points. According to the enclave's Health Ministry, more than 600 people have been killed in attacks on humanitarian aid distribution points since the end of May.
Total since the escalation of the armed conflict in October 2023 in the Gaza Strip, more than 56,600 people were killed and 134,000 were injured.
On May 18, the Israeli army announced the start of military operations in the northern and southern regions of the strip as part of a large-scale ground operation called “Gideon's Chariots“. Its stated goal is the final defeat of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas and the release of all Israeli hostages held in the enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that after the operation, the army plans to take control of the entire territory of Gaza.
