In Sunday's elections: Over 40% in Romania would vote for the nationalists from the Alliance for the Unification of Roma - 1

Over 40 percent of Romanians would vote for the opposition nationalist party “Alliance for the Unification of Romanians“ (AUR), which is currently the second parliamentary force, reports the Agerpres agency, quoted by BTA, citing data from a sociological survey by INSCOP Research.

If parliamentary elections were to be held next Sunday, the “Alliance for the Unification of Romanians“ would get 40.5 percent of the votes, the ruling National Liberal Party (NLP) would get 17.3 percent, and the other leading party in the ruling coalition – The Social Democratic Party would win 13.7 percent. The "Union for the Salvation of Romania" party, which is also part of the ruling coalition, would receive 13.1 percent, and the fourth coalition partner, the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania, 5.2 percent. The ultra-nationalist parties, the Young People's Party (PYT) and SOS Romania, would receive 4.2 percent and 1.9 percent, respectively. The non-parliamentary party SENS (Health, Education, Nature, Sustainability) would win 2.4 percent, according to data from INSCOP Research. The survey was conducted between June 20 and 26 using the CATI method (telephone interviews). The maximum permissible error of the data is plus/minus 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

The INSCOPE Research data show an increase in support for the “Alliance for the Unification of Romanians“, the National Liberal Party, “Union for the Salvation of Romania“ and the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania.

The Social Democratic Party, which is the first parliamentary force after the elections on December 1 last year, registered a decline (13.7 percent compared to 17.4 percent in May 2025).

The SOS Romania party of the controversial MEP Diana Soshoaca also registered weaker electoral support, while the other nationalist “Party of Young People“ represented in parliament garners greater public support (4.2 percent compared to 3.2 percent in May this year).
