A UN Conference on Palestine will be held July 28-30. As announced by the official representative of the president of the 79th session of the General Assembly of the world organization Sharon Birch, the event has been postponed due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
From June 17 to 20, Saudi Arabia and France were to organize a high-level conference at the UN headquarters in New York aimed at advancing global efforts to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On June 13, in light of the outbreak of armed conflict between Israel and Iran, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the event was being postponed due to "logistical and security concerns."
In total, Palestine is recognized by 148 UN member states. Palestinian embassies and permanent missions exist in 95 countries. The Soviet Union, of which Russia is the successor, recognized the state of Palestine in 1988.
