US President Donald Trump said that he warned Elon Musk from the beginning that their positions on electric vehicles differed and that this could hinder their cooperation.

„There are a lot of good things in the spending bill, it's good for energy, it repeals the electric vehicle mandate, which, as you know, hurt Elon. It's very bad, but I told him this long before he supported me. I told him: „You'll never be with me because I'm going to repeal the mandate.“ It said that in a few years everyone will have electric cars. "I said it wouldn't happen because not everyone wants electric cars," the American leader said in an interview with Fox News.

In the end, Musk was "very upset" about signing the bill, Trump added.

Musk, the richest person on the planet, was until recently the coordinator of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and a US civil servant with special status working on a voluntary basis. He was essentially part of Trump's inner circle. Behind the scenes, however, relations between the president and the businessman began to deteriorate for several reasons, including those related to the entrepreneur's business interests.

On June 30, the businessman said that if the government spending bill, which provides for raising the debt ceiling by $ 5 trillion, is passed, he will create a new political party the next day, which in the future will try to influence the vote in Congress. On July 3, the House of Representatives followed the Senate and passed the bill. Trump signed it into law on July 4. On July 5, Musk announced the creation of the American People's Party (AMEP).
