Russia: There was a lot of talk. US arms deliveries to Ukraine continue - 1

The Kremlin said that US arms and ammunition deliveries to Ukraine have continued and are currently ongoing, Reuters reported.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Kiev is clearly in no hurry with the third round of peace talks, adding that Russia is ready for them and expects the Ukrainian side to clarify when they will take place.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that the US would send Ukraine weapons, including missiles for the "Patriot" systems, for which the European Union would have to pay.

"There was a lot of talk about how expensive this is, etc., and now somehow it turns out that these deliveries will be paid for by Europe. "Some will be paid, some will not be, but the fact remains that the supply of weapons, ammunition, military equipment from the United States to Ukraine has continued and continues," Peskov said, quoted by TASS.

Influential US Senator Lindsey Graham defended his proposal for drastic sanctions against Moscow - a plan that marks progress as Donald Trump's disappointment with Vladimir Putin seems to be growing and Russian strikes in Ukraine are intensifying, notes Agence France-Presse.

"A turning point is coming" in the war in Ukraine, the Republican senator said last night on CBS television, after the US president said last week that he would make an "important statement" about Russia today. For several months, Lindsey Graham has led a coalition of US congressmen who have come out in support of new tough financial sanctions against Moscow and its supporters.

At the same time, the news website Axios reported that US President Donald Trump is expected to announce a new plan to provide offensive weapons to Ukraine, in sharp contrast to his previous positions. Earlier this evening, he announced a plan to send air defense assets to Kiev, Reuters recalls.
