US President Donald Trump said on his Truth Social page that he plans to sue The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp and media mogul Rupert Murdoch for publishing fake news about a letter with a naked woman he allegedly sent to American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

“The media needs to learn to be honest and not rely on sources that probably don't exist“, Trump wrote, noting that he will sue the publication. The head of the US administration also stressed that both the newspaper and Rupert Murdoch received advance warning about the forgery related to the letter. Trump noted that Murdoch promised to "look into the matter," but did nothing.

The US President called the publication a "disgusting and filthy newspaper." Trump pointed out that if such an erotic letter really existed, his political opponents, including Hillary Clinton, would have made this information public long ago.

Earlier, the newspaper reported that it had seen an album prepared for Jeffrey Epstein's 50th birthday. According to its information, Donald Trump sent a letter with a hand-drawn nude woman as a gift for the businessman's anniversary.

Epstein was detained by law enforcement agencies in New York State on July 6, 2019. The prosecutor's office said that there was evidence that in 2002-2005 hosted dozens of underage girls at his Manhattan home, the youngest of whom was 14 years old. Epstein's circle of friends and acquaintances includes a large number of current and former employees not only in the United States but also in many other countries, including former heads of state, major entrepreneurs and show business stars. The criminal prosecution of the financier in the United States was discontinued after he committed suicide in his prison cell on August 10, 2019.
