Russia strikes three regions in central Ukraine - 1

Russia launched massive airstrikes on three regional centers in Ukraine tonight. There are civilian deaths and injuries, along with material damage.

On the front, the main battle is being fought for the city of Pokrovsk in Donbas. The Russians claim to have advanced south of the city and are entering the Dnipropetrovsk region.

For nearly three hours, Russian strikes rang out from bomb shelters in Kharkiv. The Russian command used guided bombs, ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones. Drones caused fires in the regional center of Zaporizhia. Three civilians died in Dnipro and the surrounding area. The Air Force reported that the Russians used a total of 235 drones and 27 missiles in their attacks on various parts of the country. About 25 drones and 10 missiles have penetrated the defenses.

Journalist Ivan Antipenko reports from Kherson that this regional center is also practically surrounded, although the occupiers remain on the opposite bank of the Dnieper River - Russian drones are systematically attacking both the city itself and the surrounding villages, as well as vehicles on the exits to Nikolaev and Berislav.

On the front to the east, Russian troops are capturing one after another long-abandoned and destroyed villages, preceded and supported by swarms of drones that are attacking Ukrainian communication lines, reports Agence France-Presse. The Russian Defense Ministry claims another captured village in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Russian advance in this region threatens key coal resources and the economic potential of Ukraine, the agency notes.

In his video address last night, President Volodymyr Zelensky assured his compatriots that measures are being taken against this terror. The Ukrainian command relies on interceptor drones, he pointed out:

"I called for a meeting of the staff to be prepared with a focus on drones. A standard for the production of 500 to 1,000 interceptors per day was approved".
