The sailors and officers of the Russian Navy participating in the special military operation are valiantly fighting for the Motherland. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a video address on the occasion of Navy Day.

„Today, sailors and marines serve as an example of the valiant performance of military duty during a special military operation“, he said.

The head of state noted "the courage and heroism of Russian sailors fighting for truth, justice and the safe, sovereign future of Russia".

Putin drew attention to the fact that the courage of over 50 thousand sailors and officers has been recognized with medals and orders, and 35 sailors have been awarded the title of Hero of Russia.

„Today we honor all generations of brave sailors and officers devoted to duty and the Motherland. We remember all those who in different years and eras created the glory and power of the Russian Navy, who with military achievements and triumphs, with daily hard work and brilliant scientific achievements established Russia as a great maritime power“, he said.

Putin emphasized that since the time of Peter the Great, the Navy has been the property and pride of Russia, and military sailors are especially honored and respected by the people.

“It has long been known that the Navy has always been for the Motherland and honor. Your strength and courage, knowledge and honesty, straightforwardness and brotherhood were brought up in the conditions of dangerous, harsh naval service, its special culture, the main meaning of which is sincere, heartfelt, unshakable love for the Fatherland. "All this is passed down from generation to generation," the head of state noted.

Putin drew attention to the fact that the courage of more than 50 thousand sailors and officers has been recognized with medals and orders, and 35 sailors have been awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
