On August 9, the Russian military carried out a strike on Kharkiv, hitting a furniture store in the Kiev region, as a result of which six people were injured, reports the mayor Igor Terekhov, reports "Radio Liberty", quoted by FOCUS.

According to him, emergency services are working on the scene.

The chairman of the regional military administration Oleg Sinegubov noted that among the injured is a 17-year-old girl. According to him, five of the injured are under observation, all of them are in moderately serious condition.

"The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – strike UAVs, missiles, KAB, MLRS", adds the Ukrainian project.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against energy companies from Russia, the restrictions also affect companies registered in the Netherlands, the UAE and Turkey, FOCUS reported.

This is clear from the decrees published on the website of the Ukrainian presidency.

Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against 46 individuals and 305 legal entities, including the deputy director of "Rosatom" Nikita Konstantinov.

The list of individuals, in addition to Russians, includes citizens of Germany, China, Latvia and Turkey. The list of legal entities includes a number of Russian companies, including energy companies, as well as several foreign ones registered in the Netherlands, the UAE and Turkey.

"The sanctions cover individuals and legal entities associated with attempts to integrate the Zaporozhye NPP into the Russian energy system, participation in the seizure of the Chernobyl NPP, the production and maintenance of dual-use nuclear equipment, as well as the export of enriched uranium through subsidiaries to Europe".

Among the individuals on the list are Nikita Konstantinov, Deputy General Director of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", as well as the companies Uranium One Holding N.V. (Netherlands), Rosatom Finance Ltd (Cyprus) and JSC "Kirov-Energomash" (Russia).

The Ukrainian President's Plenipotentiary for Sanctions Policy Vladislav Vlasyuk emphasizes that the expansion of sanctions pressure on "Rosatom" is "an integral part of the struggle to limit Russia's access to critical nuclear technologies and financing".

On June 27, the NSDC decision to synchronize the sanctions pressure of Ukraine, the European Union and other participants in the "Group of Seven" on Russia and its related countries came into force.

"This decision is aimed at "the most severe consequences for the Russian Federation for the criminal and unprovoked war waged against Ukraine".

The British Ministry of Defense analyzed the progress of Russian ground forces on the territory of Ukraine in July 2025, FOCUS reported.

An intelligence report published by the British department on the X social network states that Russian ground forces "with high probability" have captured about 500-550 sq. km of Ukrainian territory.

The report states: "Russian ground forces captured a similar territory in Ukraine in June 2025, after a monthly increase since March 2025. The RSF continued their tactical advance in the Donetsk region, mainly to the northeast and southwest of Pokrovsk", the military said.

British intelligence noted that Russian troops continue their attempts to surround Pokrovsk, as well as to put pressure on the remaining logistical routes to the city.

British intelligence is also analyzing the situation in Sumy region. The intelligence community notes that the Russian military has not achieved any noticeable successes there in the past two weeks.

"The constant losses and counterattacks of Ukraine have probably thwarted Russia's plans to create a buffer zone in the Sumy region".

A few days ago, British intelligence stated that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2022, Russia has lost about 1,050,000 people, and in 2025 alone, the Russian Federation lost 260,000 military personnel, killed or wounded.
