High-ranking Ukrainian officials today took 60 foreign diplomats on a tour of government offices in Kiev that were destroyed in Russian strikes, a day after the largest Russian airstrike on Ukraine since the start of the war, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
Russia attacked Ukraine yesterday with over 800 drones and decoy drones amid months of US-led attempts to peacefully resolve the conflict. Four people were killed in drone strikes on residential buildings, and smoke rose from the capital's main government building, where senior officials have their offices, the AP recalls.
During today's tour, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga and Interior Minister Igor Klymeno showed foreign diplomats the rooms affected by the strikes, filled with charred debris.
Sviridenko called the attack "a clear sign that Russia does not want peace and is openly mocking the diplomatic efforts of the civilized world".
