The European Union is probably deliberately feeding revanchist ideas in Finland, believes the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
“It seems that the impudent voices that are heard from time to time in the Land of a Thousand Lakes about the construction of a new “great Finland“, attempts to feed such sentiments by seizing part of Russian territory are being fed in every possible way by the EU leadership in Brussels“, Medvedev noted, quoted by TASS.
“The thirst for profit at the expense of Russia was instilled in the Finnish minds even during Hitler's time“, the politician recalled. “They are obviously working on a similar agenda now.“
If this is true, the logic of the Russophobic actions of Alexander Stubb's administration, irrationally pushing the country into the abyss of a possible military conflict, is clear, Medvedev noted.
The politician recalled the recent statement by the Finnish president that his country defeated the Soviet Union in 1944 because it “preserved its independence“. “To make it even more absurd, Stubb added that Ukraine, they say, “was in a better position“ than Finland at that time. Isn't that madness? It is absolutely obvious: such a position contradicts the interests of the citizens of Finland“, he summed up.
Medvedev admits that hostile countries may deliberately import dangerous species of plants and microorganisms into Russia.
“The deliberate introduction of alien species of plants, and this cannot be ruled out, animals and microorganisms into our territory by unfriendly countries is also considered a method of biological warfare against our state“, Medvedev emphasized.
