Corruption is a systemic problem that I underestimated, and I will not underestimate it anymore. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov in parliament about the case of the two inspectors from the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration“.
They were accused of requesting and receiving a bribe from those transporting equipment for the Robbie Williams concert in Sofia on September 28.
Grozdan Karadjov reviewed the corruption cases from 2013 to date.
Among them, he pointed out that in the same year the executive director of the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration” was arrested, in 2015 a Turkish driver filmed the request for a bribe from a DAI inspector, in 2018 there were mass arrests of inspectors for bribes of 300 to 600 euros. In 2022 - effective convictions for corruption of DAI employees - Plovdiv. "A systemic problem that I underestimated, and I will not underestimate again", concluded Karadjov.
