PP-DB demands urgent hearing of ministers due to US sanctions against Lukoil

If Bulgaria is Peevski, Peevski wants to buy the refinery in Burgas to stand at its entrance, at its entrance and to tap it, as Multigroup tapped it 20-30 years ago

In response to a question on the sidelines of parliament, the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev commented on the topic of what actions Bulgaria should take regarding the "Lukoil Neftochim Burgas" refinery after the sanctions imposed by US President Donald Trump on the major Russian oil companies, Novini.bg reported.

If Bulgaria is Peevski, Peevski wants to buy the refinery in Burgas to stand at its entrance, at its entrance and to tap it, as Multigroup tapped it 20-30 years ago. However, we have another proposal. Our proposal is the following - today there is an energy commission - this energy commission should urgently hear the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Finance and a representative of the Bulgarian National Bank, since the signal that came last night from the USA is extremely serious. "Lukoil" is part of the country's strategic infrastructure and it is extremely dangerous if it falls under sanctions and we need to quickly know what needs to be done so that there is no crisis on the fuel market and Bulgaria can adequately meet this situation. The faster "Lukoil" gets rid of the refinery in Burgas, all the better, because this is part of Russian influence, but in no case should it fall into the hands of the Bulgarian mafia, as this will be even worse for our country than the current situation, said Mirchev.

Asked what will happen to Bulgaria after the US sanctions against Russia, he pointed out: "If the economic consequences are like the sanctions against Peevski under "Magnitsky" - nothing. But the Bulgarian state, the Bulgarian parliament must take it extremely seriously to help the refinery fall into the hands of a normal foreign investor, preferably a Western one, so that we can not depend on Putin's whims and what he is doing in Ukraine to make Bulgarian consumers suffer. The risk is very high, Bulgaria mainly uses fuels from the refinery, the refinery is very key and the abrupt imposition of such sanctions has the potential for a fuel crisis in Bulgaria".

Commenting on the discussion of the second reading in the National Assembly of the changes to the Law on the State Agency "National Security", which the president vetoed, the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" and deputy chairman of the PG of "Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bozhanov noted: "We do not support this change. It is entirely in the interest of Peevski to install one of his chairmen. Whether this will be Denyo Denev or Anton Slavchev, we have yet to check. One of the arguments that the government is putting forward is – there must be a holder in order to be more serious towards our partners. Can you imagine how serious we will look to our partners America and Great Britain, by putting a person sanctioned by them under "Magnitsky" - they will stop sharing any information with us".

And at the moment, Western services have extremely limited the sharing of information with our services precisely because they know that SANS is under the control of a person sanctioned under "Magnitsky". This is known by the people in the services, it is known at all levels and this is a shame for our country. Very often in the services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs there are people who present themselves as experts, as good professionals, at first glance they seem like that, but in fact they are either bought off or simply side with the person sanctioned under "Magnitsky". This also happened with Kalin Stoyanov, who came from the Directorate General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau with a very good biography. This speaks badly about society, this speaks badly about the way the institutions in Bulgaria function, added Ivaylo Mirchev.

Asked if it comes to a rotation of the speaker of the parliament and a replacement of the speaker Natalia Kiselova, whether the "Continuing the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" party will nominate its own candidate, Bozhidar Bozhanov noted: "This is a matter of the majority. Since we do not participate in this majority, we cannot have a chairman. It is clear who the formed majority is – it includes "New Beginning", "There is such a people", the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the GERB party, which is already subordinate to "New Beginning". They will elect a chairman – whether it will rotate, how long it will rotate, whether it will go to the plum festival, etc."

But we should not have any doubts – and the old chairman was on "New Beginning", and the new one will be on "New Beginning", added Ivaylo Mirchev.

In response to a question, Bozhidar Bozanov pointed out that "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" has no information about the reason for the withdrawal of accreditations of journalists in the National Assembly. We hope that they will be returned so that every reporter can ask uncomfortable questions to the ruling party, the opposition, or whoever they choose, Bozanov said.
