The state intends to take over the management of “Lukoil” by appointing a special manager. This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borisov on the sidelines of parliament, quoted by Nova TV.
► The "Lukoil" case
Borisov announced that with the expanded powers, the special manager will also have the right to sell. The procedure must be completed by November 21. “Everything is being agreed upon so that by November 21 we can have the categorical opportunity to inform our partners that not a single cent will go to Russian companies that will finance the war in Ukraine”, assured the GERB leader.
Expansion of powers has already been voted on in the Energy Committee, the opposition announced.
”We have long predicted that “Gunvor” will not buy the assets of “Lukoil”, since I have much more information than the others”. According to him, the law, which is being considered in the National Assembly today, copies and builds on the German model.
The Swiss-registered raw materials trading company “Gunvor” announced that it was withdrawing its proposal to purchase the foreign assets of the Russian energy company “Lukoil”. The decision was made after the US Treasury Department called the company “a puppet of Russia“ and made it clear that Washington opposes the deal.
► Meeting with employers on Thursday
Borisov also commented on his conversation with employers on Thursday. “GERB mainly protects small and medium-sized businesses. This is the “golden goose” that lays the eggs for the money in the budget. Dialogue with them is mandatory. With the unions too, but we already have so many left-wing parties that we have agreed to participate in a Joint Management Council, so that next year all these distortions that are in the budget can be overcome”, said the party leader.
► The case with the National Children's Hospital
Borisov also commented on the news that all members of the Public Council for the National Children's Hospital have resigned. The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov, accepted them. “With such a mayor, Sofia will not have a Children's Hospital. He is in Rio de Janeiro for a week at the carnival. The Children's Hospital in Burgas is already being furnished and will be open on January 1, as well as in Plovdiv, where there are GERB mayors.
