“The derogation is good news for Bulgarian citizens, but the process creates many risks. During the derogation period, Bulgaria must show that it is really working to sell the refinery to an authoritative international investor. This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bozhanov in the show “Speak Now” on BNT.
According to the MP, the law requires the special manager to have experience in managing refineries, and Rumen Spetsov does not have any.
“Spetsov's most important task will be to prevent disruptions in the refinery's operations that would affect fuel availability and prices at gas stations”, Bojanov was categorical.
“When the state distributes a huge part of the gross domestic product – for the first time this percentage exceeds 45% – this creates a very high risk of Bulgaria quickly becoming indebted and entering Romanian scenarios. This is especially dangerous in conditions of high levels of corruption, such as we have in our country,” Bozanov said.
According to him, there is not a single reform planned, neither in the 2025 Budget nor in the 2026 one, and the government continues to emphasize inflated expenses for administration salaries.
