"The rulers should find a way out of this situation by committing this violation. I am not the person who will name it, although I have a few ideas. But above all, it should be clear that this referendum is unconstitutional for a number of reasons. We have a ruling by the Constitutional Court on the subject. It is important to clarify that what the Constitutional Court has ruled on concerns Kiselova's right not to introduce the president's proposal into the plenary hall. That's all. This is what the Constitutional Court is saying now". He stated this on the show “The Day Live” on NovaNews, PP-DB MP Yordan Ivanov, commenting on the case that arose after the Constitutional Court's decision on the euro referendum proposed by Rumen Radev.
We recall that according to the magistrates, the former Speaker of Parliament Natalia Kiselova unlawfully returned Rumen Radev's request for a referendum on the introduction of the euro, without it being considered by the National Assembly. The majority in parliament says that the topic has long been out of the hands of deputies. According to Rumen Radev, this is not true.
Ivanov was categorical that "the rulers, who hold the leadership of the parliament, should find a solution". "We have a clear and consistent position that this referendum is unconstitutional. We are not shy to express this in a plenary hall. What shyness, apparently, the rulers had to prevent the BSP from voting. But this is their problem. We have a very clear and consistent position", the MP emphasized.
And he added: "What referendum on an issue that we have already decided on under the accession treaties? And what's more - this is an illegal act according to Bulgarian law".
"Bulgaria has chosen its own path. Entering the eurozone has one huge plus - and the plus is that just as you can make an omelet from eggs, but the opposite is not possible, once we enter there - there is no way out. This outlines a clear European perspective for Bulgaria. And this is one of the few good news for our country, which we are witnessing now against the backdrop of the absurdity that we see in the budget that is being proposed to us, and all the other problems in the state," he pointed out.
In his words, the PP-DB will not support this budget because it is pro-inflationary and not reformist. – Because the ruling party, as they promised for a year in a row - from the prime minister to the ministers and to the party leaders - that they would not raise taxes, would not increase the social security burden - now they have done exactly the opposite. Moreover, in its current form, this budget is an accumulator of inflation. It will lead in the medium term to poverty, to more inflation and to economic problems in the state. Our assessment is that it will lead to a Romanian scenario, from which there will be no turning back except with a lot of pain, a lot of political damage and with bearing responsibility".
He emphasized that he personally signed a bill - a proposal by "Democratic Bulgaria" - for a 15% reduction in the administration. "Next, we want civil servants to start paying their social security contributions. It's that simple. All Bulgarian citizens do it, only civil servants don't. This is an archaism that must be ended. Next, we want this administration to become electronic. And pensioners in the Ministry of Interior system to be released. These are three simple steps that we are proposing, and the government is silent on this topic", he said.
And he added: "This budget represents a war and a blow against the middle class".
