The protest broke the intransigence of the ruling party to accept the budget.
This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by OFFNews journalist Ruja Raicheva.
She also noted the request for unity in the opposition:
"We have never seen a more divided opposition, and there were representatives from all opposition parties at the protest".
Borisov is very sensitive to public opinion, unlike Peevski, who is used to being hated, the journalist reminded and added:
"It is very difficult for him to survive a large group of people shouting against him and calling him "mafia"".
She was also interested in the reaction of the BSP, who, according to Raicheva, spoke on behalf of Peevski.
"In fact, this move by Borisov was a gnashing of teeth at Peevski without saying it. It is very reminiscent of his monologue at the GERB headquarters, where he again gnashed his teeth at Peevski, but did not say the name".
In the program "Politically Incorrect" Ruzha Raicheva admitted that Peevski is the basis of the budget parameters:
"A screen is being put in front of the budget, that this is a BSP budget and it is very left-wing, and it is very social. And in fact, what he is doing is continuing the increase in the repressive system, in the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense – this is interesting and seems to me to be an attempt to appropriate some of President Radev's people. There is a courtship of the repressive apparatus of the state here".
We are in this chaos on the threshold of the eurozone, when we should have a reformist and visionary budget that will launch us into the club of the rich, the journalist noted and added:
"We are more on the edge of the club of the poor than what they tell us".
According to her, all this is worrying and she expressed doubt whether what will be revised will reflect the demands of the protesters.
A lot of tension has built up and it is escalating, it is culminating, believes Raicheva. According to her, however, there is a very thin line between the PP-DB not trying to ride this protest and make it their own.
The protest belongs to the people, she is categorical. And she expressed the opinion that the cabinet is not stable:
"It is based solely on the understanding between two people - these are Borisov and Peevski".
"Borisov obviously does not like to appear weak, he does not like to appear to be riding on Peevski and listening to Peevski and from time to time he makes such movements in which he shows "Here I am again, I am the terrible Borisov, I pound on the table and they listen to me". But this does not seem to be exactly the case and that Peevski has leverage, including in his party. This is the big question – Can Borisov defeat Peevski and go somewhere without breaking off a huge piece of GERB and simply no longer being the party he relies on so much," the journalist commented.
According to her, refusing the budget is a big capitulation.
In her words, the most important thing for Peevski is to keep Borisov close to him. And the most important thing for Borisov is to be able to distinguish himself from Peevski without dying politically, she added and predicted:
"I think we are starting to approach the final outcome in their relationship, and it will be key for the entire country".
