Dimitar Stoyanov: We have evidence that the group from Petrohan did not want to commit suicide

Another "red flag" in this case is the movement of the camper

The prosecutor's version of "ritual suicides" in the "Petrohan" case is about to collapse completely. Investigative journalist from the website Bird.bg Dimitar Stoyanov announced on the air of "Euronews Bulgaria" that his team has evidence indicating that the victims had long-term development plans and did not intend to end their lives. According to Stoyanov, the investigation is being swept away, and the institutions are covering up data about long-term child abuse and protection by the special services.

A key moment in the Bird.bg investigation are the testimonies of eyewitness Deyan Iliev, who was the first to discover the bodies. Stoyanov revealed that the witness saw numerous shell casings on the first floor of the hut and on the stairs to the second floor - a scene he describes as a – crime movie. "What were those shell casings doing there at that exact time?", the journalist asked rhetorically. The presence of shooting on the floors contradicts the thesis of calm, voluntary suicides in one room. Stoyanov emphasized that investigators still do not have clear motives for what happened.

The journalist raised the question of what information Kalushev had passed on to the services in order to receive such immunity against investigations for prostitution with minors.

Another "red flag" in this case is the movement of the camper, in which part of the group is supposed to have moved to Okolchitsa Peak. The vehicle crossed the whole of Bulgaria without being detected by a single toll camera or RIA camera.

"This is inexplicable", commented Stoyanov, hinting at data manipulation or the use of routes secured by "special" passes. The journalist expressed strong suspicions of agent dependence. The fact that the head of the National Security Agency Denyo Denev refused to comment on whether there were agents in the group, according to Stoyanov, only strengthens the thesis of complicity. The group had an unregulated shooting range in a protected area and conducted "operations" with the assistance of border police.

According to Dimitar Stoyanov, the way in which the pre-trial proceedings were conducted – divided between the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office and the Vratsa District Prosecutor's Office – is a recipe for failure.

"Everything indicates that this case is headed for a scrapping," he concluded, adding that the Ministry of Interior did not even collect the data from the mobile operators' cells in time.
