„For another year, financial resources are seized and the liquidity of state enterprises is reduced. This puts their financial stability and investment programs at risk. The IMF criticized this measure. AIKB also believes that the decision is not correct and that 100% of the money of the state-owned companies should not be seized. This will play a bad joke from the point of view of the stability of the state-owned enterprises, some of which are in a bad financial situation.

This was stated to NOVA NEWS by Dobrin Ivanov - executive director of AIKB. His words are about the decision of the Council of Ministers for 100% seizure of dividends from state-owned enterprises.

He recalled that the government also seized 100% of the dividend of state-owned enterprises in 2023. “This measure turned out to be a reserve that the finance minister believes can be used at any time to compensate for the revenue shortfall,”, Ivanov said.

Regarding the received and returned second exploratory mandate to form a cabinet, the economist stated that in politics the bill is paid through elections and the time for them has already come. “Sociological surveys show that no particularly big change is expected in the results and in the representation in the National Assembly. This will be the will of the people, we expect a higher voter turnout," Ivanov said.

He expects the upcoming elections to have a sobering effect on the political parties. “In the last 9 months, management achieved unsatisfactory results – no reforms were carried out, there was scandal after scandal, there was a high degree of political populism. By adding the messages of the parties in the previous parliamentary elections, the red lines were crossed out, he explained.

According to him, tying the minimum wage (MW) to the average wage in the country destroys industrial relations and creates a great burden. “Neither trade unions nor employer organizations like these relations”, Ivanov said.
