Ground forces hold open days

The occasion is the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO

Military formations from the Ground Forces are holding open days on March 28 and 29 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO, the press center of the Ministry of Defense announced, BTA reported.

The formations of the Second Tundzhan Mechanized Brigade in Stara Zagora, Kabile and Haskovo open their doors to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In Stara Zagora, to mark the 20th anniversary of membership in the Alliance and to popularize the profession of "personnel soldier", samples of equipment and equipment of the Bulgarian Army will be demonstrated. There will be a dynamic display of tactical actions and combat techniques. Representatives of the National Military University “Vasil Levski” – Veliko Tarnovo, which will present the opportunities for career development in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria. Citizens are welcome in military formation 24150 – Stara Zagora, “Augusta Trayana” No. 23, the Ministry of War informed.

In the military area “Kabile“ near Yambol, on the days of the open doors, visitors will be able to see the main samples of the weapons and equipment of the 20th self-propelled artillery division and the 42nd mechanized battalion. In the two units of the Second Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces, guests will be able to observe a demonstration of specialized hand-to-hand combat, as well as learn about job opportunities, remuneration and career development in the ranks of the Bulgarian Army.

In Haskovo, the event will be held in the area of military formation 52 740 with a similar program.

In Pleven, military formation 22 160 from the Unified Center for Initial Military Training also opens its doors to citizens and guests on the occasion of the anniversary on March 28 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Ministry also announced of defense.

Various events will mark the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO, the press service of the Council of Ministers announced a few days ago. On the eve of the anniversary, on March 28, at 11:00 a.m., the National Museum of Military History will open the exhibition “The Bulgarian Army– 20 years part of NATO". National conference on the topic “20 years of Bulgaria in NATO: Because we are stronger together” will take place on March 29 at the Central Military Club under the auspices of the government.
