The former Minister of the Interior Emanuil Yordanov told NOVA that they did not report to him any materials related to the activities of the alleged smuggler Nikola Nikolov - Pascal. He pointed out that if indeed he was a smuggler, it is strange that there have been no proceedings against him for more than 20 years.
„It is high time, when someone is declared a criminal, to give concrete data”, insisted Yordanov.
In his words, there are many unexplained things surrounding the scandal with the “Customs” Agency. “The very beginning of the scandal, the categorical lack of information about committed violations by the accused persons. Now there are some charges against them, they are being held in custody. When I know how many cases of this type have ended, I am not very optimistic about the positive end of this proceeding," Yordanov added.
He said that there is a single text in Bulgarian law that speaks of exemption from criminal liability when providing information to investigators. He is in the head of an organized crime group in NK. “As far as I remember, this text dealt with the provision of information before the OPG began its activities,”, the former interior minister also said.
