The weather in the mountains is good for walks until noon, with the exception of Stara Planina, the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) informed BTA.
The weather is expected to worsen in the mountains in the afternoon. It is foggy and raining in the high part of Stara Planina. The PSS does not recommend that people walk there.
The lift on the Borovets gondola line is working. The snow cover in the higher parts of the mountains is patchy. The weather is warm and there is a danger of slipping, there is 1 cm of snow on Mount Botev.
In the massifs of Western Bulgaria and the region of the Central Balkans, cumulus clouds will develop, after noon and cumulus-rain clouds and in some places it will rain and thunder. Above about 2400 m the precipitation will be from snow. There will be almost no precipitation over the eastern regions of Stara Planina, Strandzha and Sakar. The wind will be moderate from the east, on the high and open parts it will be from the south-southeast. The maximum temperature at 1200 meters will be around 11°, at 2000 meters - around 5°, according to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
