Popov congratulated the National Assembly on the decision to increase the salaries of military personnel. "The last 10 years there was a 6% increase each. But the labor market demands that this be corrected. It was done in a good way. I hope that the people's representatives, when voting on the budget for next year, will not correct this decision and that the Minister of Finance will propose such a budget in which salaries and this increase will not be at the expense of the future modernization of the military forces", the general added.
He added that the defense of more than one country is not the job of the Ministry of Defense alone, and although we have "our problems in the Bulgarian army,", more and more people understand that it should be a priority.
