Recently, we have started to get used to the frequent change of governments and parliaments. This is what President Rumen Radev said, dariknews.bg reported.

“But in today's time of crises, wars and uncertainty, we cannot get used to the neglect of the Bulgarian army, where modernization processes are moving sluggishly. You will remember that it took me convening several successive National Security Advisory Councils to get the modernization process moving. It took almost a year for the current parliament to adopt the modernization investment program developed by Mr. Donev's interim government. And I have long been appealing not for urgent, but for emergency measures,”, he added.

And he congratulated the parties for making a decision to raise the salaries of the military.

“There is much greater flexibility and adaptability in defense policy, in planning and spending resources, so that we build adequate defense capabilities. People should see the army as a reliable shield for their security within the framework of collective defense, the president also said.
