The goal of the new right-wing union Blue Bulgaria is a rich and prosperous country and satisfied Bulgarians within the framework of a stable EU, capable of guaranteeing the security of all its citizens and the inviolability of the national borders of the member states.
We are witnessing the development of a major geopolitical conflict. There is a war on our border. Bulgaria's European membership is the only guarantor of our external security.
Bulgaria cannot be nobody's land, the policy of Radev and the leftists is a wrong policy. For every Bulgarian politician, our national security and love for Bulgaria must stand above sympathies for other countries. We must stand firmly on the side of democratic and free countries.
Unfortunately, the management of GERB and PP/DB failed in this. Instead, they used Euro-Atlanticism as an indulgence for their unprincipled rule and left our society more divided than ever.
Blue Bulgaria offers solutions for our security that will unite us as a nation. And this should be our common Bulgarian and European responsibility and task. Russia's claim for a new geopolitical division leads to the destabilization of our region.
Blue Bulgaria insists on a common union policy, a clear defense consensus of the European countries of Eastern Europe. The West betrayed Ukraine. If we do not want Bulgaria to be the next bridgehead, if we do not want to be the next bargaining chip at the next Yalta, we must unite all the union resources that Europe has. Relying primarily on the US for defense and security is a bad policy, Ukraine has seen it.
The solution to guaranteeing our external security goes only through the formation of a strong European Union defense capacity. In this process, Bulgaria must get out of the role of a reluctant executor and observer of foreign decisions. Bulgaria should be an initiator for the formation of a European defense consensus. Bulgaria must turn from being a consumer of security into a country generating security solutions for itself and the region. In the EU, we are not a small country and the role of “small voiceless” member is rather a convenient position for Bulgarian politicians, which they have chosen to escape responsibility for important decisions. However, this position is just as harmful to Bulgaria's European identity as Eurasian pilgrimage. The European Union is an alliance of strong countries united by the common interest in prosperity and security. Bulgaria is an equal member of the EU and we have all the necessary tools to defend our position in Brussels. Blue Bulgaria will fight for Bulgaria to have a leading voice in the formation of all common European policies. Bulgaria is an external border of the EU and should be among the main countries that determine Europe's migration policy, according to its capabilities.
