Toshko Yordanov from “There is such a people” announced to journalists that they are submitting two bills to the National Assembly's office. One - related to referenda. The second - to end the mayoral debates.
“So far it is just some hearing of ministers to fill our time and not look ridiculous, although we continue to look ridiculous.
The one draft law is the Law on changes in referendums known to you, with the easing of the possibilities for holding national and local referendums and their binding nature of decisions, so that what has happened so far - the parliament crushing referendums - does not happen. The second law is related to the problem for which the people of Dospat are before the National Assembly today. You know how the mayor derbies there. It's not just the mayor of Dospat. Every single mayor in the country has these “opportunities”. Instead of DNSK exercising control and making prescriptions, rules and punishments, this has been transferred to the town halls, he explained.
“Each mayor and the administration both issues its own permits and checks itself and punishes those it does not like. This law was written by Grozdan Karadjov. He said that about 90% of the complaints against the cities were precisely because of the arbitrariness of the mayors. Even then, he made an amendment to the law, which was stopped by the PP-DB, who controlled the legislative process in that parliament and government. It is a pity that both Denkov and Kiro went to the people of Dospat when this problem was localized by Grozdan Karadzov, whom they blamed for everything, but in fact they deepened the problem. If they are so open - both they and the rest of the political parliament, suffering with the people of Dospat, I very much ask them to act in a supra-party way and for this law to pass at the necessary pace so that this parliament can also adopt it!”, urged Yordanov.
