President Rumen Radev is expected this week to hand over the second mandate to form a government after the National Assembly rejected the GERB-SDS candidate for prime minister, dariknews.bg reported.
Meanwhile, after two days of coalition talks over the weekend, "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" announced that they requested a meeting with the head of state to discuss the current political situation and the possibilities for solving the political crisis.
Last week, Radev said that he expects the new, second-largest parliamentary group, PP-DB, to clearly state whether they will remain in opposition or seek support for a government. "That's why I'm not in a hurry and I'll hand over the second mandate next week," he said, but did not specify which day.
After the discord in the DPS, 17 people's representatives were expelled from the parliamentary group of the movement. Thus, the party went from being the second largest parliamentary represented political force to the fourth. PP-DB is now the second largest in the parliament.
