Yesterday's meeting between the representatives of Democratic Bulgaria and “There is such a people” created the opportunity for moderate, expert and practical conversations on policies and priorities. I was pleasantly surprised by the behavior of the DB representatives, which is extremely different at the moment from the behavior of the PP and their leaders.
It seems that right now DB are hostage to the sick ambitions and infantilism of Kiril Petkov, who considers himself a self-sufficient factor to make the selfish decision to send the country to new early elections. For a long time it was Kiril Petkov who said that the responsibility rests with the mandate holder. Especially if he is the winner of the first or second term.
ITN leader Slavi Trifonov commented on this on his Facebook page. Here's more from his post:
Well, Kiril Petkov abdicated from the second mandate before receiving it, proving his absolute political bankruptcy. He tried to hide this bankruptcy behind an insane declaration. Well, it failed again. After all, political embarrassments cannot be hidden behind a small railing in the form of a declaration.
Get me right. From yesterday's meeting with the DB, it became abundantly clear that DB is willing to have a meaningful and practical conversation with the other political forces to get out of the social, economic and political crisis. While Kiril Petkov, Asen Vasilev, Nikolay Denkov and Lena Borislavova blast their own coalition partner in this desire.
What's next? President Radev must hand over the third mandate. The most logical thing is for him to choose to hand it over to “There is such a people”, because we are the only ones in this parliament who can hold talks with all the other parliamentary groups. This will be the last chance to look for common sense in this Parliament.
And, if by chance, common sense is not found, now I will tell you who will be the culprits for Bulgaria to go to new elections. One is called Boyko Borisov - the other is Kiril Petkov. One because of his ego and the other because of his political infantilism. We'll see if they both show some sense or we go to the polls. But this time they will not be able to hide behind Euro-Atlanticism.
