PP-DB Co-Chairman Kiril Petkov and PP-DB PG Chairman Nikolay Denkov made a flight with a small plane above the village of Voden. This is clear from photos published on the PP Facebook page.
"Pilot Andreu and I discussed how with only 8 small planes equipped with thermal cameras, aerial monitoring of the whole of Bulgaria can be done for the early detection of fires. With a minimal cost to the state, there can be full monitoring over the entire country for the months of July and August and this type of tragedy with the burnt houses can be prevented. The same thermal cameras can also detect migrants," he wrote on Facebook.
"Acad. Denkov and I will hold meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Transport to discuss this possibility," he pointed out and added: Thanks to the friends from the Czech Republic, who yesterday managed to make nearly 60 courses over the flames with their helicopter and poured 120 tons of water, mastering several hotspots in Bulgaria. We expressed our appreciation for their work and the boys took off again for another day of extinguishing from Plovdiv airport.
We also thank the Bulgarian firefighters and volunteers who are here around the clock. I personally supported them yesterday.
