The Chairman of the DPS and the PG of the DPS Delyan Peevski sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office and the State Security Service report on the activities of the Temporary Commission of the 49th National Assembly for the investigation of corrupt practices in the “Customs” Agency. and the possible role of former finance minister Asen Vasilev in them.
Due to the scandal surrounding the Agency and allegations of corrupt practices, Zhivko Kotsev lost his position as Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As part of the corruption investigation, two people were arrested - father and son, Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi.
The report of the parliamentary committee contains data from several hearings, including the current interior minister Kalin Stoyanov, his predecessor Plamen Tonchev and Asen Vasilev in his capacity as finance minister.
According to Peevski, the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of the Interior and the State Department of Internal Affairs should be made aware of the conclusions in the Report, taking appropriate actions in order for the whole truth to come to light.
"No corruption scandal should remain undiscovered in order to restore the trust of Bulgarian citizens in the institutions and the state. Bulgarian citizens should know which political elite stole their money. Because this is the money that should have been in the budget and should have been for the people. That is why it is necessary for the institutions to work and not to hide the truth", says the chairman of the DPS and PG of the DPS.
