New scandal in SOS

Chairman of BSP-Sofia and the group of socialists in SOS Ivan Takov expressed serious doubts about the purity of the goals of the municipal councilors from PP-DB-SS regarding IV MBAL in Sofia. At a briefing before the start of today's last session of the season of the Metropolitan Municipal Council, he directly asked if anyone did not like the nice building on Macedonia Blvd., after the Deputy Mayor for Finance and Health Ivan Vasilev and the municipal councilors from the PP-DB-SS group changed their minds about the future of the municipal health facility.

As is known, less than a month ago Ivan Vasilev personally invited the chairperson of the Committee on Health Care and Social Policy, Vanya Grigorova, as well as representatives from other political groups in SOS to be co-sponsors of his report on the merger of IV and II MBAL. Surprisingly, a few days ago, however, he and the advisors from his PP-DB-SS political group decided that they have a person for the hospital's directorship and will "recover it in 3 months".

"The statement of Deputy Mayor Vassilev and the municipal councilors from PP-DB-SS that the report on the merger means closing the hospital is a complete manipulation and insinuation, commented Ivan Takov. - Let it be clear - the hospital will not be closed. The condition of IV MBAL has been very serious for years and the only possibility to save it is to do the merger. And the inconsistent actions of the deputy mayor and the councilors from PP-DB-SS can only be defined as completely irresponsible".

Ivan Takov explained that the topic was discussed in detail at balance commissions after it was raised by the administration of the Metropolitan Municipality. "I had a lot of questions about the merger proposed by them at the time, admitted the leader of BSP - Sofia. - After all the arguments that were presented and after getting to know the case in detail, I became convinced that the merger is really the only option to preserve the jobs of the staff and the base. Now we understand that colleagues from PP-DB-SS had a person who would solve the hospital's problems in 3 months, but they do not make a financial commitment for the recovery. And they also do not rule out after these 3 months to do the merger, which they currently claim is disastrous and will destroy the healthcare facility. This all seems very strange. And it seems to me that it is an attempt to bankrupt the hospital according to a model that we have seen back over the years under the previous administrations of the Metropolitan Municipality. We also know what happens to the building fund after that... So the merger is the only way to preserve the staff, departments and building of IV MBAL".
