The people's representatives from the 50th National Assembly should return their remuneration to the state budget or deposit the money into an account to support the victims of the devastating fires .
This is requested in the position of the National Women's Organization of VMRO.
President of the NGO Dr. Sultanka Petrova and former Deputy Minister of Social Policy is categorical that after today's public appearances by chairmen of parliamentary groups it is clear that the people's representatives are not fulfilling their main functions.
The fiftieth National Assembly is over, the MPs are not doing their main law-making work, and are using the parliamentary rostrum only for personal advertising, states the position of the women in VMRO, Dr. Petrova.
That is why the VMRO demands that the deputies' salaries be returned, and the money redirected to much more urgent activities, such as helping Bulgarians affected by the forest fires and even buying equipment to deal with disasters and accidents. The lack of such equipment was palpably felt during the recent fires, when helicopters from the Czech Republic and airplanes from Spain had to be sent to help us.

It is time for the Bulgarian people's representatives to show wisdom, statesmanship, solidarity and empathy for the people who suffered from the merciless fires, the position also states.
