Extinguishing individual outbreaks in Slavyanka Mountain is continuing, BNT reported.

The fire is under control, but firefighters, forest officials and the military will continue to work today to extinguish the last smoldering embers. The fire entered Bulgarian territory from Greece more than three weeks ago, but the rough terrain, dense vegetation and climatic conditions made it difficult to control it.

Due to human negligence, two other fires were burning yesterday afternoon in Southwestern Bulgaria.

Near Boboshevo, the fiery element burned about 500 decares of arable land. The quick reaction of firefighters and volunteers prevented the fire from spreading in the direction of the city.

About 40 decares of forest territory burned in the Blagoevgrad village of Lisia. The fire was caused by a local beekeeper.

Due to the hot and dry weather, the fire department again issued an appeal not to light fires outdoors under any circumstances.
