A crash on the main road to the Makaza border crossing took one victim, reported "Nova TV".
The incident happened around 08:00 this morning in the area of the village of Parvitsa.
Two cars collided. One of the drivers - an 86-year-old man - died on the spot.
The passengers in the other vehicle were injured. They were transported to a hospital in Kardzhali.
Traffic in the area of the accident is diverted in both directions through the village of Malka Parvitsa. An operational team on duty is inspecting the scene of the accident.
The cause of the incident is being clarified.
