So the People's Representative from “BSP for Bulgaria” and member of the BSP National Council, Georgi Svilenski, answered Ganiela Angelova's question before “Deniat ON AIR“ why did the retired BSP chairman Cornelia Ninova not give a power of attorney to Atanas Zafirov.
Regarding the powers of attorney, Svilenski, who together with Ivan Chenchev was authorized to represent the BSP in the process of registration and participation in the elections, stated:
„Always, 30 years ago in the party there were such proxies – to receive, to submit documents, to register, to appeal various procedures. And the paternity was when Zafirov closed the office of the National Council so that citizens or members of the National Council could not submit applications, documents. The other is normal practices, normal procedure, standard powers of attorney. Because there was tension, Ninova wanted to give way and took a step back and said: here, you perform these functions. However, these people are afraid that someone will displace them from the offices of “Positano“, commented Svilenski.
In his words, BSP lawyer-consultant Aglika Videnova had the same power of attorney. “The statute does not require that a power of attorney be given to the acting chairman of the BSP. That's Ninova's problem, it's Ninova's fault that she endured traitors around her for so long and couldn't understand that they were traitors. The case with the CEC:
„We know that there were threats to the CEC, how they felt about it, we don't know. Claimed by people who have heard them. The more important thing is that Mr. Zafirov presented himself as the chairman of the party, but he is not, it was written that he represents the coalition, but he has no way of representing it. On the basis of this application, the CEC made a decision and deleted Ms. Ninova. We filed a complaint in court, and there it will become clear who did what, why, and whether the CEC's decision was correct. If the court confirms the decision of the CEC, then everything is correct. But, if the court cancels the CEC's decision, then we can go back to the first question, was there any pressure?" Georgi Svilenski answered the questions.
Who will arrange the sheets?
„Candidates are promoted by the main party organizations, arranged by the regional councils – so far, don't you hear Ninova, Svilenski, Chenchev? The National Council then approves them and then the approved lists go to the RIC. Yes, where there is a problem with some applications, those applications are replaced. Yes, where there is any disagreement, corrections are made. I am not saying that it is not possible to have corrections, but I am saying that the lists will be arranged in the order described in the Statute of the BSP“, commented the socialist.
Svilenski was categorical: “BSP will be registered, BSP will participate in the elections, BSP will have 31 lists in all constituencies. The guarantee that the BSP will register in these elections is precisely the fact that the registration or signature is in the hands of Kornelia Ninova, and since that day in the hands of the authorized two members of the National Assembly – me and Chenchev. And I hope he gets a better result, despite what is happening, because I know what every socialist feels – they are disgusted, they are bitter, they are offended by what is happening, but in the end, there is clearly a need to go through it,” commented the socialist.
„Should we tear off the BSP? I have been a member of the BSP for 35 years. Zafirov still has a little more to accumulate until he reaches my years of service in the BSP. I am not the person who will break away from the BSP. The problem is that with i.f. Zafirov, the head of the BSP, will not enter the parliament. And that's what sociologists say, Svilenski responded.
About the left alliance: “Do you know who are the 20 parties in this alliance? Because of these 20 parties, I hear that one by one they give up and 2-3 will remain in the end. It will not happen, simply because sociology, in spite of this unification, gives 6.2%, there is no way with I.F thinking of Zafirov as president, with Gutsanov, Vigenin to jump to move away from this barrier of 7%. I have concerns about these results. That's why we want to unite, to motivate the socialists, to show them that the party has it,” commented Georgi Svilenski.
According to him, in the working groups that are working now on the pre-election program of the BSP, 10 working groups – there are none of the traditional experts of the BSP, of those people who have worked. “You know, the BSP participated in the administration, there are ministers, deputy ministers, directors of directorates. There is not one included because there is a desire for revenge, for revenge, for division. We don't want this to happen, we want to go together, to go united, motivated, to make a program that will make the Bulgarian citizens vote for the BSP“, the socialist pointed out.
„ If the BSP wants to win, it must also have good parliamentarians. Tell them a better parliamentarian in the BSP group than Ninova. Yes, at the time there was, Mikhail Mikov was a good parliamentarian, Lyuben Kornezov. But these people, who ended up at the head of the BSP today, are made only of malice”, said Svilenski and indicated:
„You see yesterday, a post was released again – “I have run out of patience”. Who is he scaring with this? What will happen? Will he take my party ticket? Will he take my internship at BSP? Will it take away my experience? It is thought that being i.f. and by scaring – I will stop talking. On the contrary, if so far some things have been kept silent in the name of being together, good and united, now we will speak more often, sharply and concretely.
To the question of whether exclusion can scare, Georgi Svilenski answered:
„Maybe, that's how smart he is – who will he exclude, a party chairman for eight years, who when she walks through the streets, people follow her, hug her? The biggest criticism that Ninova has had over the years is that she kept the likes of Zafirov around her. Everywhere we've gone, people say – stop it, is that your man. And now this person scares with “his patience is over“. "Let's see," said the socialist.
Nevertheless, the socialist said that he expects reason at the plenum on Sunday. “If at the meeting of the National Assembly, 180 people decide that they should punish Ninova, Svilenski, Prodanov, Chenchev and all the deputies who do not like Mr. Zafirov, we will accept this punishment. But I doubt that 180 people think like Zafirov.
About Zafirov's reaction to Krum Donchev's complaint:
„This is the nonsense of a person elected ex officio, elected from the “home book”. Zafirov, we all know that he was not elected by the party members. He was elected ex officio because Ninova nominated him as vice president. Krum Donchev has been a member of the BSP for more than 7 or 8 years, he is a member of the National Assembly. If Zafirov knew his party, he would know that in order to be a member of the National Assembly in this mandate, you must be elected at least from 2020. Zafirov's problem is that Krum Donchev has filed a complaint and that he cannot sign because is an illegitimate leader. Only a person whose behavior borders on a person with special needs can allow you to threaten the Supreme Court that if you don't withdraw your case earlier, you will ask it to withdraw. There's no way. There is a judicial system, it will rule, the court will say who is the leader, the chairman, who signs. Until then, Zafirov should wait”, commented Zafirov.
For the left union:
„I was watching Maya Manolova – with this behavior, do you think she motivated the socialists to vote for Maya Manolova and the new left unity”, turned to the presenter Svilenski and indicated:
„She was the chairman of the BSP Control Commission for 4 years. And then he appeared with 4 different coalitions. Is she the moral pillar of the BSP and the left? Because while I went to campaign, to persuade people to vote for the BSP – she and her companions went and campaigned not to vote for the BSP, so that we become 7%, so that there are 18 people in the parliament and there is no strong left. And yesterday he said that Ninova was guilty.
„ Zafirov, Manolova and Georgi Parvanov – it is their coalition in their heads. God forbid it happens, because indeed the 4 percent will be seen as quite a high bar. If Ms. Manolova is the face of the new left – this is what awaits the Bulgarian socialists. And they know it. And they will express it”, declared Georgi Svilenski.
