Bulgaria and Japan discussed increasing investments and tourism between the two countries

Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Fukushiro Nukaga, who is visiting Bulgaria, was informed by the press center of the Council of Ministers, NOVA reported.

The focus of the conversation was the declared readiness to continue the political dialogue and raise the level of relations to a strategic partnership, especially in the context of the three anniversaries in 2024. This year we mark 115 years since the first official contacts, 85 years since the establishment and 65 years since the restoration of diplomatic relations. Prime Minister Glavchev was categorical that Japan remains a priority partner and traditional friend of our country.

Japan is one of Bulgaria's key trade partners in the East Asian region. During the meeting, the possibilities for attracting more Japanese investments, increasing the export of Bulgarian goods and promoting tourist exchange were discussed.

Dimitar Glavchev and Fukushiro Nukaga were unanimous that other areas such as information technology, startups, the automotive industry, artificial intelligence, energy and innovation provide opportunities for expanding the bilateral partnership. The future presence of Japanese companies in the Bulgarian industrial parks was also discussed.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Fukushiro Nukaga stated that Bulgaria will remain a valuable partner not only in bilateral cooperation, but in the partnership between Europe and Asia.
