Denkov: Discussions are underway on what process would be the strongest candidate for president

The key thing in the presidential elections is that the entire community focused on the European development of Bulgaria and does not accept corrupt governance and practices must unite

"Discussions are underway on what process would be the strongest candidate for president. He must be able to convince Bulgarians that they should live better," MP Nikolay Denkov from “We continue the change“ said at a press conference in Gabrovo, BTA reported.

“The key thing in the presidential elections is that the entire community focused on the European development of Bulgaria and does not accept corrupt governance and practices must unite. All of us who want to become a European country in the full sense of the word must unite and nominate one candidate. On the other side we have a country that is trying to tear us away from the European Union and send us, based on a distorted history, to the periphery of Europe, where other imperial powers will want to influence. On the other side we see forces that are European-minded, but make us close our eyes to cases like “Chiren“ and public procurement“, pointed out Academician Denkov.

Academician Denkov believes that the direction is very clear - European, without corruption, a fair justice system, more income, less inequality.

During the press conference, MP Bogomil Petkov pointed out that the “We Continue the Change“ party has a special focus on the Gabrovo region.

“Some of the most prominent personalities of the party have come to Gabrovo. We will continue to have a good and special focus on Gabrovo. I entered politics because of the Shipka tunnel and the water supply of Sevlievo. We continue with the focus on the Gabrovo region, I would like to especially thank the presence of Academician Denkov. The investment program of the municipalities was also an achievement. We worked with all mayors regardless of which political force they belong to“, Petkov also pointed out.

On the issue of accepting religion in school, Denkov believes that the fact that the discussion about this is not being conducted with sufficient arguments is worrying.

“The discussion is developing based on emotions. It is said that religion will be an elective subject, it has actually been an elective for several years. These arguments are related to arguments about the weakness of the idea itself. Currently, 12,000 children have freely chosen this subject“, added Nikolay Denkov.
