The Sofia Municipal Council approved the budget for Sofia's public transport, proposed by GERB and BSP, BNT reports. With 35 votes "for", 23 "against" and 2 "abstains" The Sofia Municipal Council approved the economic framework for public transport in Sofia until the end of 2025.
Thus, the increase in salaries for over 7,000 employees in the Sofia public transport by 300 leva, as of April 1, is already a fact. The economic framework also provides for a 6-day extension of the validity of all transport documents - cards and subscriptions - due to the time when ground transport was not functioning during the protests and strikes.
Two options for the economic framework were proposed. The first, supported by GERB-SDF, BSP and Carlos Contrera from VMRO, provided for a 300 leva increase in salaries.
The second option, proposed by Simeon Stavrev from PP-DB, included an increase of 100 leva. of salaries and a 100% increase in bonuses for drivers in electric and motor transport.
The proposal of the so-called economic majority - GERB, BSP and VMRO - was expectedly accepted.
