President Rumen Radev will welcome participants in the National Sheep Breeders' Festival, which is taking place near the Peter and Paul Monastery near Lyaskovets.
The head of state will participate at 11 a.m. in the award ceremony for participants in the national folklore competition "Zableyalo mi agantse", which is part of the sheep breeders' festival, BNR specifies. Over 3,000 singers, musicians and dancers are participating in the competition. The youngest is 3-year-old Bayan Orlovski, and the oldest is Petar Petrov, 92 years old.
The National Sheep Breeders' Festival near the Peter and Paul Monastery is also dedicated to the preservation and development of Bulgarian crafts, traditions and folklore and presents achievements of Bulgarian farmers, livestock breeders and producers.
The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov is also expected to attend the festival today.
The Sheep Breeders' Festival continues today with farmer competitions, demonstrations of shepherd dogs and pulling loads with heavy horse-drawn carts, as well as a rich folklore program.
