The "Kozloduy" NPP announced that a worker of an external company performing activities under a contract with the nuclear power plant was injured. A statement published on the company's website explains that the worker was performing activities with an angle grinder without an issued fire order and in non-compliance with the necessary fire protection measures, BTA reports.
The incident occurred yesterday. "This violated the strict rules for occupational safety, as well as the high level of safety culture achieved at the "Kozloduy" NPP," the plant stated. The injured person, who suffered burns to parts of his arms and legs, was provided with first aid, and the initial examination revealed a second-degree burn. The worker was transported to a Sofia hospital in stable condition.
The external company will bear the sanctions provided for in the contract for the violations, the "Kozloduy" NPP added.
